Summer Farewells

As a farewell to Summer, we thought we'd take the kids to the lake shore to watch the sunset.  It was a glorious day!  So, we grabbed some dinner in the car and headed to the beach.

Mom had the brilliant idea to try to get some family pics on the sand dune first.

They were all so sweet to accommodate me and my quirky ideas, even though everyone knows that the real fun at a beach is to dig in the sand!

But I did get them to pause and watch the sunset.  It was a wonderful family time to ponder the beauty that God has provided us in this amazing world He created!

"LORD, our Lord, how majestic is your name in all the earth!  You have set your glory in the heavens. When I consider your heavens, the work of your fingers, the moon and the stars, which you have set in place,"
Psalm 8:1 & 3

Thank you, Lord that we were able to show our children a glimpse of your splendor and majesty tonight!

Almost gone!
(Do you think she'll stop taking pictures now? - Not a chance!  I even take your pics while you sleep!)

And then, right back to digging in the sand!

This is definitely my kind of Summer evening...laying back on a blanket with my honey, watching the kids play in the sand.   We couldn't have asked for a better evening!  It was one of our shorter trips to the beach, but well worth it, even with the hour drive.  We will definitely do this again soon!

So long, Summer!  For now it is time for us to embark on a new adventure in another year of homeschooling!
