3 Turtle Doves...?

Okay, I know, I know, it's 2 Turtle Doves.
But 3 is the key here!  And we are making Turtles!
The simplest, yummiest Christmas treat, that your kiddos can practically do themselves!

Just remember 3
3 ingredients
300 degree oven
3 minutes

Here's the 3 ingredients - round pretzels, Rolo candies, & pecans.

My helpers unwrap the Rolos for me.  I've found it easiest to place the pretzel over the Rolo.  The pretzel should go all the way down, but occasionally the pretzels crack - we always snack on the broken ones when we're done!  But first spread a sheet of wax paper on you pan - it will make clean up a breeze!

Then it's into the 300 degree oven for 3 minutes.  Just enough time to pull out the best looking pecans.  After you remove your pan from the oven, simply press those pecans into the tops of the Rolos.

Just look at those grins!  They know what a yummy treat this is!

Then, just to speed things along, I pop them into the freezer for about 20 minutes.

Ta-da!

We made these several times last year.  And they were always a hit whenever we brought them anywhere!  And of course they are a favorite in this house!

Fast, easy and yummy!  Enjoy!

  5. I found mine at our local grocery store - Meijer. I would try asking at your grocery store. Otherwise, maybe amazon.com - but you'd probably have to buy in bulk. I haven't tried Target or Walmart, but that's another option. I hope you can find them! Otherwise you might just place the Rolo on top of a mini-twist pretzel, bake, and still press down with a pecan. The Rolo should ooze through the pretzel shape and maybe even over the edges, which might turn out kinda cool. Then once it's hardened again it should hold together. Let me know how it works out for you!
